Speaking is a human instinct. People know how to talk in more or less the sense that spiders know how to spin webs.14 But unlike spiders, we spin our linguistic webs from multiple raw materials. Speech is the default linguistic channel in hearing communities, but language and its channel are not one and the same.
Meaning: Action before words, actions speak louder than words, work before talk, deeds not words, doing is better than saying, talk is cheap, what you do is more important than what you say, being proactive.
When you think of the most inspiring leaders, what are the common characteristics they share Most likely they are known for being honest, kind and delivering their promised result. If you try to connect the dots between the shared attributes of these leaders, one clear theme reveals itself: They inspire their followers by doing, not talking.
Let's look at some examples. There are the commonly referenced leaders like Steve Jobs, Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King Jr. We also find the same trait in the figures Henry David Thoreau, Richard Branson and Mother Theresa. Each of these leaders caused -- is causing in Branson's case -- massive impact by working hard to create the change they wanted to see in the world. And by working hard I don't mean talking a lot.
Networking is a perfect opportunity to show that you mean what you say. One of the seven key habits of the best networkers is to add value to everyone you meet by connecting them with someone you know who can help them. That is leading by example, not just talking.
Make it your goal to take action first, then talk about it. You'll find that the following you attract will be the best kind. No matter how small or big your platform is, your actions will always speak louder than your words. Remember: Talk is cheap, so back it up with real life examples, and use what you do -- not say -- as a starting point to inspire others.
Whoever came up with that saying was onto something, just like the person who came up with the phrase \"actions speak louder than words\" - it's much easier to talk about something than it is to actually follow through with it.
Proverbs 18:21 says, \"Death and life are in the power of the tongue\" (ESV) - talk about a bold statement! The Proverbs claim that there's no neutrality when it comes to your speech; you're either building someone up (towards life) or you're tearing someone down (towards death). Talk, according to the Bible, is not cheap at all.
I think we want to believe that our talk is cheap and that our actions speak louder than words, because it means that we don't have to work on taming our tongue. But the Bible tells us to believe that there are significant consequences not only to what we do, but to what we say everyday.
We are an authentic brand that we have created from our own emotions and attitudes to life.It is not about what you have achieved or what you intend to do, it is about keeping your word and not making false promises or announcements.More action, less talking. 59ce067264
